95 model 1ltr donk and 5sp.....

Post by Gutless »

What should I ask? My zook has been hammered by DOT, so it is now deregistered

I wish to do a v6 conversion on it. So I have a 2month old S3 rockhopper case (new prop shaft and bearings), 95 model 1 litre with elecronic dizzy(had 100,000k service including belts, and cam/crank seals), and 101,000k's on the clock, and a 2 week old, fully rebuilt 5sp hybrid gearbox in 1 litre maruti gearbox for sale.

I know what I want for the S3, but the 95 model engine and 5 sp I am unsure of. The 5sp conversion costs about 1300 to do IF you can find the gearbox housing that is necessary to do the conversion.

Opinions please

How much for the rockhopper (if it's for sale) and whereabouts are you?

I'm in brissy. Not 100% on the sale ATM, but keep your eye on the for sale forum. When I sell it, it will be the entire case, not just gear set. It was rebuilt 2 weeks ago, and has about 4 hrs driving time on it since then.

I'm not really expecting that you would want to seperate the engine and gearbox but i would be keen to see the bolt pattern on the g'box to see if it lines up with a cappo motor.

If you are taking them apart and have a camera handy how about helping me out with some pics? :) please. ;)

I am not taking them apart for a little while yet. I am going to roganise all the parts for the engine conversion before I drop this motor/ gbox. It is a 1 litre bolt pattern. maybe someone has a 1ltr box they can take a pic of?

If it's a normal sierra 1L box then it's no help to me... alas.

it will fit the early model cap motor....the cast iron one. I will assume you have the ally block, so it will be no good for you.

No i don't - i have the cast iron one...

how do you know it will fit that motor? so it is a maruti 1L box then? or a sierra 1L box?

I'd be very keen to know what 'serial number' or some other identifying marks your gearbox has on it so that i can hunt around for one...

thanks mate
