ticking sound

Hey guys having an annoying issue with the vitara.
vitara is a 95 fuel injected and it has a ticking sound which sounds like its coming from just under the plenum on the drivers side.
anyone cluey on here or anyone had this issue before?

Does it change with engine speed .. it could well be your injectors (sounds like a retractable pen being cliked really fast ) , or it could be your tappetts as well (will have a more metalic clacking sound than a tick)

yeah like the pen sound... it starts at about 2000rpm and then dissapears when it revs to about 3500-4000.
i was thinking it was injectors but didnt think they could tick so loud.
does that mean they or one of them is blocked?

You should hear the ones on a GU .. they are loud .. does not mean anything is wrong at all ..

its still driving its just that one sounds real loud.pretty audible and the car sort of misses over a space of 3-400 rpm when driving on flat road at about 2500rpm and wasnt sure if its connected to the sound?

yeah the car has a miss at those revs but it is fine at higher revs and at idle.
can injectors have flat spots?

Do you have the ticking sound when the car is stationary or only when you are moving?

It could be bad fuel.
If you get the clicking only when moving it could be something, like a stone, in a tyre or hub caps.

nah i notice it when stationary and moving but only in the 2-4000rpm range.

nah but it is only noticeable at 2000-4000 rpm stationary or moving. and its also got a slight miss at these same revs if just cruising but if i accellerate hard both ticking and miss go away.
cant seem to find what it is.

took one clapped out pollution gear solenoid for my vit to sound like osama's pillow.
