what starter for 1.6 conversion?

just a quick question,.....

i looked in the bible and done a search but cant find the answer to my Q?

what starter motor do you use when you do a 1.6l conversion using the 1.3 5 speed? is it the 1.3 starter??

I have carby 1600 with 1300 5 speed with no adapter plate. I used the 1300 starter motor, I had to grind a small piece on the back of the starter and a little on the rib on the block.

ive got the g16b block is it the same deal??

so there isnt much grindin involved?

The grinding required is fairly minor
Fit it up and you will see where you need to remove the meat

are u using the adapter plate? i did and used the vit starter that came with it.

Not sure on the g16b but on the g16a its minimal. I was sceptical until I had it infront of me I took a little off the back of the starter body till it was all flush then a little off the rib on the block. I havnt got any pics sorry. When its infront of you you,ll see what I mean.
