4.5l pertol motors in 80s....overall do they have what it takes off road????? :?

They are real good for a petrol....the only mod i would do is plug the holes in the dizzy into the blocked filter ports on the aircleaner...to promote air flow and dryness....if water still gets in there, your going to be paddling :)

I reckon the auto 4.5 is awesome offroad. Plenty of grunt and it can crawl rocks no worries. No issues on angles either.

Yep and every time I have been out it eats up all the desiels that come along and all of them leave thinking dam I wish mine went like that.

The only bad thing is the amount of fuel it uses but I have decided that the good things far out way the fuel usage and now I don't even really think about it that much.

im not really that concerned about fuel consumption as she's already converted to gas but she still chews it!!! but cheers for the info guys, looks like its time i do some REAL 4 wheel driving.
