You can drive a 2wd car the whole way in easy as. Even if it rains you can still access it in 2wd.

Last time i went i took a Mazda 3 and never had an issue. And a few years ago when the roads were in worse condition and it was pissing down rain, friends of ours got a 2wd barina in quite easily aswell.

same as hill out of cruiser easy in 2wd car, towing a rig out is a bit more interesting i'd say drive it out to road and then load it what we done with mine at cruiser after almost not makin it once 2T ford trader would have been fun to reverse a trailer down the main hill out when out of control backwards
plenty of parts on the bench

They do have caravans and cabins at Rover Park, but you would need to call them ASAP to book them.

true, but...

our thoughts were...

can't stand in the rain / cold & watch the comp
can't sit around a campfire and sink piss.
all our bedding & stuff is already wet...

lets go back home.

i hope for the competitors sake we were wrong and missed out though.

I left at 6am in my 4wd and 5 other passengers, took the bonalbo-urbenville rd. Hell of a road and rained heavily..... Kept going finally got to rover park about 10.30.

We only had one umbrella so only the girls were using us, we boys braved the cold wet rainy weather to take photos of each competitor especially flynn going full boar and bending a rim

Lots of good driving from everyone ;) Bloody slippery. Thanks to the fellas who kept the fire going the whole day

We left about 2.30 as Dave was packing up and comp was finished for the day. We sure had a bad drive both ways, way home was worse with heavy fog, you couldn't see anymore than 2 metres at a time.

Once we got back to Brisbane we retired to the local pub for drinks ;) I'll post up pics once i've got them off the missus' camera.
