Torsion Bars

Post by n_dorphin »

Hi,
I adjusted my torsion bars the days and noticed that one side is nearly at full adjustment and the other has heaps of adjustment left.

Is this normal or should they be re-indexed??

I replaced my torsion bars last year. I had heaps of problems trying to get it set up right. I also found tha you could wind one side all the way up to take the load of the vehicle, which didn't seem right. I ended up bring both up togther until i found the right height. This process took a while as I found i had to go for a drive to get the suspension to move before it would settle. I also found that incorrect torsion bar adjustment would make the back of the vehicle lan to one side. Very confusing process, but well worth the effort.

you can even the bars out by measuring the bolt as it comes through the top of the nut make sure there the same height this will get it even or you could just crank them both all the way up
