you can make nearly any box "fit" but the amount of custom/fab work varies.
As a minimum I would look at fishplating the chassis and running crush tubes for the hi tensile bolts. After that it all depends on if you want to run a forward/rearward facing pitman arm, what pump you can bolt to your engine etc. etc.
Ive heard the jimny pump/box combo works well as does the vitara system and can be had fairly cheaply.
FWIW I will be running a vit pump mated to a 75series cruiser box with custom draglink. mainly cause I have them sitting in my garage. Im also only going to be running 33s.

the vitara set up is a fairly easy conversion . If there are any questionns feel free to ask as i have done it to run 31's. Will upgrade to a saginaw pump when i go lux diffs and 35's.

I can confirm the Jimny box is an easy fit, but wreckers know this and can ask up to $1500 for a full jimny kit.

I have set up a couple and that's what I will be running, even with over 35 tyres, but my scrub radius will be small so the leverage on the box will be minimised.
Apparently, toyota cressida boxes work well too, but IMHO these are all getting a bit old.
Most other boxes either sit on the wrong side of the chassis rail or the pitman arm faces the wrong way. Of course anything can be made to work, but vit and cressida are the two obvious and affordable options.
(PS the "perfect" box would be a LHD IFS hilux box

I picked up a full jimny p/s setup for approx $800. The steering box bolts straight on, if you use a vit ps pump bracket with the jimny pump (its the same pump) it bolts straight onto the engine, but trimming or moving of the radiator mount is needed.
i suggest giving Suzi Four Wreckers a call, they are out near penrith and they'll be able to explain whats needed for the conversion and may have all the bits needed. And they have good prices in my experience.

I see where your coming from but there realy isnt alot of fab involved and im sure some one could do it on the side for a slab. Jimny setup just seems to much money that could be better spent elswhere.

I paid $500 for my jimny p/s then after the cash was handed over the boss walked over and said to the guy serving "that was $1500 not $500"
But I also paid $50 for a vit set up and was given another vit set up for free.
So if you had the fab skills I know which one you should pick.

My vit ps cost me round 300.
Most of the work was done by me with simple tools.

I have made a few Vitara power steering adapter plates to bolt the box straight to the chassis. Its not that hard at all. You will need to space the drivers side radiator mount for clearance. If you have the G13 then you need to modify the pump bracket a little to mount it to the block. You can use a second V-belt on the crank and a V-belt pulley on the pump (Mazda I think), cut a notch in the passenger radiator mount bracket for clearance and bolt everything else together. Oh and use a Tarago pitman arm as well.
