Take a piece of pipe with you when you go to hire the bender , get the tightest fitting die so you avoid crushing pipe , also what angle are you after , also the chinese style benders prefer thicker pipe as the dies and formers are sloppy so 4mm wall is better as this allows for sloppy dies and if they hire a better quality bender you can go for 3.2 wall , the better the bender the better the bend , also the radius you require will be set by the die so you might not have much choice. Bend a test piece to see how much pipe you loose opn each bend , this will allow you to make accurate bends , also buy or borrow a large square to measure your bends , you can make a bevel square out of to pieces of flat bar bolted at one end and this will allow angled bends to be the same. When bending a hoop lay bender down flat and use a level to get the second bend level with the first , this will make hoops straight when lining up legs. 80sl also reccomended cutting a piece of pipe in half and placing it on the round formers to stop dents in the pipework , If it is your first time maybe buy one extra length of tube , and if you do need to cut and join you must sleeve the joint with a heavy wall pipe , Cheers Paul.
