Well, you mentioned that it wouldnt pump fuel out when you disconected the fuel return, I assume the hose from the top pipe of the injector pump.

Try further upstream mate, are you getting any fuel out of the filter, then remove the tank to filter hose, and blow thru it to see if its blocked.

Could be a blocked fuel filter, or a massive air leak resulting in it not being able to get fuel.

Let us know what you find mate.

Hmm,
To clarify, when the hose was off the filter priming body, and you primed the pump, did fuel come out or not?

To me it sounds like you have an air leak, and when the vehicle is left standing, the fuel drains, and is replaced by air.

A few pumps, and it moves the fuel through to the inject pump, and your running again.

Is this the way it is??

A similar thing happened to a bloke at work recently. It turned out to be the power wire to the stop solenoid had come loose and broke contact.
Try that.

Similar thing happened to mine ---- Started it and was idleing and while I was putting on my seatbelt the car stopped. I tried and tried to start it but to no avail.
I ended up calling RACV , and he found I was getting no fuel to the pump.
The bloke ended up running a temperary wire from a power soarce to the pump -- no problems !
