Marks Adapter kits for GQ 5L. How good

Post by MyGQ »

Hi guys

well its now getting close to time for us to put a 5L VS commy motor into a 2.8l GQ setup. We have the new 4.2L box, got the engine, boy she looks sweet.

Now we have looked around and have all but decided on the marks adaptor kit for it. Just want to get some feedback from those who have this kit for their 5L GQ conversions and especally from those who did it themselves, was it pretty straight foward for the electronics and such. like did is have plugs and all for the temp and oil senders? just want to get a general idea on how hard it is? we do have the mechanical knolage for it, just want to get an idea what we are in for.

Thanks guys

Hello to you sir I have just helped a mate do one. If you have mechanical knowledge you should be ok, we are still having trouble with the computer and sensor wireing but we will perserver. It has takin us a number of weekend hrs so far but were not auto elecys so we kind off expected that. As with most things after the first one it should be easier not that we plan on doing another one any time soon lol.

Check that the adapter faces are parallel. I know of 4 (1 which was mine) which were not.
