i acidentally did this on the weekend and forgot that i didnt have floor plugs in yet, so my car got wet inside, andway i drained it out as best i could, but now theres still water slooshing around somewhere, and a fair bit too, by the sounds of it. I cant seem to find where it is.
Can someone tell me where it might be hiding? thanks
That's nothing..... post a pic when it's up to ur arse.....
I wasnt trying to show off, just ask where water went, its not in the doors, I got pulled out forward, so when the front ucame up, all that water went in the back, it sounds like its behind the seats somewhere.
There is really nowhere for it to get stuck, the footwells are the lowest point so it would all end up there. Are you sure its not the fuel tank you can hear as Ive been over the sills with no doors and I hose the zook out when it gets a wash and it all runs out the footwell bung holes.
Nik
maybe it is just the fuel, funny that ive never noticed it before though, maybe that pathetic lining in the back actually did stop some noise. thanks youre probably right
There is a cavity behind the seats. Lift the vinyl out and on the diagonal sloping section where the floor rises towards the rear there are some small tape dots over holes. the cavity behind there will be where the water is. Not sure how it will have gotten in, there are lots of potential ways.
I think there are some bungs/tape covered holes in the cavity from the underside, but I can't recall off the top of my head.

As Steve, said, behind the seats is a cavity that can hold water. Have a look just infront of your rear wheel arches on the underside, and there should be a bung or two. Remove these and see if any water comes out. If your lost i can post some pics later tonight.
Layto....

nah its not the doors, or door sills, i found the door sil polugs in the kick panel and drained them out, it must be that angled bit, i will have a check and try to find its drain plugs or something

Thats where the tank is for the distributor when it discharges isnt it??
yeah, I'm ok with cryptic normally, but that's missed me too.

Ive got a breather on the back diff, but not on the front which is pretty intelligent, i'll drain it this weekend, it prob needs an oild change anyway. How do you check the hubs? just pull them apart and clean the,?
Yep. I see cleaning and re greasing in your future padwan

Also, if you haven't filled the car up with water before... pull the seats and all the carpet out NOW and let it all dry, which will take days and days.
If you leave it wet, the smell ends up unbearable. The underfelt starts smelling like a wet dog/bongwater/god knows what after a few weeks and you will be hating life. Trust me on this.

I hear ya
Just thought I'd mention the stench thing.... someone out there might be wondering who has been having brekky buckets in their car after they sunk it Man, that felt stench is bad. First came across it my first car - en ex farm gen3 hilux. farmer bob had drowned it and then though he had better trade it in quick. I put up with the stench first and then the busted motor three days before the statutory warranty expired since then, that smell has made me very angry.

yeah that really does stink!!!
A mate (so he says) spilt milk in my old sierra didn't tell me, went all under the matts not pleasant at least you could hose them out! with Jimny not so easy.
I was sick of the whole water in the car thing so i don't drive mud all the time and i put in push plugs to let the water out!
The vynal floor mats got the shed treatment now it's all steel in there!
Only been snatched out of mud once and that was because the dizzy took in water and i thought it might of been in the engine so i didn't try and start it again just in case!
Have sat in water then givin it too it though!
