3Y anti pollution hoses.

Post by BundyRumandCoke »

Yucky, but needed for a roadworthy. All the anti pollution hoses ect have been disconnected on the motor of the Daihatsu Rocky I am giving my daughter. And it wont pass without them connected again. So, has anyone got a list, diagram, or similar as to what connects to what? Or alternatively, any ideas where I can get this info. What about a manual (gregorys) to suit what vehicle, that I may be able to get this info from?

Cheers

hi yes big fun this lot did my luxy twice go to a wreckers and make a diagram or ask anyone you see drivin around to check their motor out and take a pic or video it. best way diagrams in manuals are sometimes numbered but you dont know where the other end goes to. generally there arte 3 systems od vaccuum she will run a bit sloppy in certain orders but have it idle and block off 1 by 1 to see if a diff in speed idle is made, start with the large hoses and the main long ones to the dizzy and manifold then, work your way back from the accessories like temp sensors ,vacc. idler pumps, secondary jet/bowl pump diaphragms these are the round angled space ship shape extentions on carbs. mine has 4 ! bloody pain in the arse!have fun. use a vaccuum guage to test even idle and leaks.

Just make it look like they are connected, most mechanics don't know where they go either and won't be pulling out a manual just to make sure for a roadworthy.

Yep, thats basically what I have done. Went to the wreckers this morning and grabbed a heap of hoses, T pieces, and the like. Connected hoses to pipes, unions, and valves galore to at least it make look like everything is where its supposed to be.
