Timing Belt?

Hey guys. Whilst calling around and looking around for Feroza's, I am noticing a lot of them are due for timing belt change and so have to budget that in.

Just wodering what I can expect to pay for the change? around $400?

I payed $80 Aus for my timing belt (Repco T182 95T-25mm Curvlinear)
and did the work myself. I don't know how much you would get charged for labour. If and when u do change the belt just check to make sure the timing pulley on the crankshaft isn't loose, the key sheered on mine and it cost me $1300.

Geniune Daihatsu belt ~$55. Depends on your mechanic as to how much cost- I had a full servicing including all oils changed, timing belt etc and it cost me ~$300. I supplied the engine oil and filter.

$55 for genuine. Should have checked before i bought the repco one.

I found the same thing with Repco. Big time rip off merchants. :x :x :x

When I was looking for a replacement cluth kit they wanted $245.00 and genuine Daihatsu was only $185.00.

I think they take advantage of the fact that people automatically assume non genuine parts are cheaper.

Anyway ended up with a Daiken hevy duty clutch for $290.00 instead.

What ones have you looked at so far?

I noticed this a lot yesterday as well, the few we looked at had just had new timing belts etc

When I worked part time in the car industry the guys had a saying for Repco, it stood for:

Rip Every Poor C--- Off!

Repco cherged me $100 for a standard air filter. I was in a hurry so i just paid it.
How is the Daiken clutch performing?
