I am trying to wire up an additional reverse spotlight on the GU. I have got all the wiring sorted out with exception of how to wire the Double-Throw lever switch (the kind that has six metal contacts on the bottom).
much appreciated if anyone can help.
faintly recall you need to cross wire the top left with bottom right and top right with bottom left poles.
will a 250V 15 amp switch be alright for the running of 12V 100W spottie?

Your talking about an intermediate switch used for three way switching , not the best type to use , a sealed unit would be better , should have a label on it , but from memory 1 and 3 and 2 and 4 rings a bell , Cheers Paul.

Its the kind of switch that is commonly used for purpose of reverse polarity. I bought the wrong switch (should have gotten a 3 pin type) but was hoping it can still be used.
The plan was to wire up the toggle switch so that 1) Can be manually switch on, 2) off and 3) automatic on when in reverse.

How do you propose to power this light when the vehicle is not running , also the reverse light wiring won't like a 100 watt spottie attached to it and if you supply 12 volt to it it can backfeed and turn ignition on when put in reverse. Not as simple as it sounds . might need to add relay and get a 3 position switch , if you are going to use as a camp / work light you might also want to power off aux batt , Cheers Paul.

This is embarrasing..... its fixed now. Apparently the switch was "stucked" open it up and closed it back and its now working sweet.
Thanks MART for the word of advise... I am wiring mine up with a relay and 3 position switch.... the spottie is feeding off the Aux battery and the reverse light is wired to the switch and feeds into the relay thereafter.
