I've got a F75 rocky with no mods yet, and i'm wondering what tyre size to go for. 30x9.5 or 31x10.5 are the sizes i've been looking at, which will be going on to fairly deep dished 8x15 rims (I think they are off a F100?).
Is the extra diameter/size of the 31" likely to cause clearance issues, or hinder its crawling ability?
I am still putting it back together so I haven't had a chance to test it and see what its like with its current 235/75x15 tyres.

I prefer 30's, as I have found the 31's a bit much for the motor on the highway. It kills your economy. I do have a set of mags with 31' muds on them, that I trailer to a location if I am doing some serious stuff.
The 31's do hurt your crawling, but I use 4L nearly all the time anyhow, so not too many dramas.

Mud makes excellent toothpaste.
31"s will scrub if you've got no lift yet. My 31" ET's Scrubbed a little bit on full flex with 2" suspension lift, albeit slightly sagged, and they scrubbed on the front springs when turning too, i think they where15x10.5 so a bit too wide.
235 75 15's are what I'm running now as daily's. No scrubbing except for a tiny bit at full lock on the front springs.
And low range suxs with 31"s , but the extra clearance well makes up for it IMO. I wouldn't drive on them every day though, makes it a lot slower to take off, and chews more fuel.

I've been running 31's for most of the 4years i've had mine and they've been fine. I've been running maxxis buckshots (on my 2nd set now, got 95000ks out of first set) and have only noticed they scrub inside the front guards at the top when fully flexed.
I find them better on the highway than the 29's that were on it when i first bought it as it drops the rpm at 100k's nicely.

If you have a turbo it won't be slow, Nath is just jealous
You might need to get a bit of lift though as stated.

When I was looking the 15x8" with 0 offset were equivalent to my factory wheel offset.
They also had -11mm, -19mm, -23mm and -28mm offsets.
The more negative the number, the further they stick out from the centre of the car.

You won't fit 31" tyres with stock suspension, unless you like using the angle grinder.
The more offset you have, the more likely to scrub on the guard when the suspension is flexing and turning the steering.
Wheels off Feroza's, Suzuki Sierra's and Vitara's also fit.
Don't get spacers...If you want a good offset, buy rims with bigger backspacing, spacers aren't a good idea. One more part to go wrong.

Ive got 30"-9.50 mud tyres on steel speedy wheels and 31"-10.50 all/terrains on alloys . I loose heaps of steering lock with the 31"s both f100 wheels
