thoughts on bf krawlers
just want some thoughts on bf krawlers i currently have bfg muddies got them second hand from father in law he was rapped in them as am I. so far have got 80,000 km from them. it is nearly time for a new set of boots and thought that if these tyres have been so good to me wonder what the krawlers would be like in the mud and what sort of km's i might get from them. Just an idea any thought would be taken on board as thought on other good mud tyres 285x75x16 33's Cheers
Anything with BFG or cooper on them are going to cost more. As for the BFG muds. There a pretty good tyre. Wouldn't think the current Krawlers are worth it for cost wise as a daily driver. But rumours are BFG I soon to release there new Mud tyre. Which uses a similar tread design to the crawler.
As for price on the Current BFG Muds as of yesterday from Bob Jane Bendigo Vic.
285/75R16- BFG MUD= $309
Maxxis Muds = $279
35x12.50R15 - BFG Mud = $329
Maxxis Muds = $279
315/75R16 - BFG Mud = $389
The MAXXIS are the Buckshot mudders

Supposed to be a krawler type pattern.bogged wrote:you may wanna price your crawlers, they arent in the same price league as normal BFG MT's... or werent last time I looked 12mths ago

bfg
the new design BFG came out on a prototype at one of the car shows in the states the petersens mag had it wish i still had a copy seems like the centre lugs have more shape but didnt look like the crawler imo. I wont toucha pair of BFG's again as i had the mt kms and every time i went off road the tyre would leak due to the new rim protector. run along a side bank and the dirt etc would separate rim to tyre. Ok if you want to run 40psi everywhere!!!!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
I ran my Krawlers in my buggy - they did alright...
My opinion they are more suited to a heavier vehicle (blue labels) - i then sold my tyres to jeff white who's been doin well in the superior all terrain challenge (recent round - 1st i think)

custom bar work, 4x4 parts, trailers, anything out of steel/alloy :D
the buildup for the ultimate Adventure was pretty full on and from memory they used a different frame, different diffs, different suspension etc. So its basically a JK 4 door body on custom everything elseDEEV8 wrote:new bfg's look the goods.
wtf i never knew the new 4door had leaf rear!?
Ransom note = demand + collage

They are releasing 17+ sizes this Sep and 15,16,16.5 Sep next year.
The BFG Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 light truck tire is designed for rock climbing and other rugged applications. Sizes will be rolled out in two phases, the first starting this September and the second starting in September 2008.
The tire contains BFG's Krawler TEK technology that consists of agressive sidewall lugs, cut- and chip-resistant sidewall compounds and sidewall cords "that are up to 33% stronger than the previous Mud-Terrain T/A KM tire. These advancements allow for more bite and sidewall protection, along with increased strength and resistance to bruising caused by rocks and rough trails."
I just found this info above. I can't wait one year for new tyres.
