where to buy steel sth west Bris/Ipswich

Post by Beefcake »

Where do people buy steel on the south side of Bris or Ipswich? I used to get what I needed from where I was working but now I fly in/out it's a bit tough to get a couple of metres on the plane.

I don't want to have to buy lengths and lengths. I just want to have a go at building a front bar for my 45 and a few other little jobs. So who is good to deal with?

Cheers

Citi-Steel in Darra generally comes up cheapest.

As does A Wood Shed in Darra for Timber (maybe you want walnut burl trim on the bullbar...)

Cheers I will give them a go. Dunno about wood in the bar, but maybe a burl elm dash could be the go...

I'll stick some ocky straps in my bag too, just in case ;)

Jackson's at Redbank and there is another good steel place at the back of Redbank near the Cunningham Hwy but I can't think of their name.

Almost finished my front bar; used steel from direct steel, and hans welding works. Hans' also did some bending of 3mm plate for me, cheap and the guy who did it was excelent.
Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
