heavy duty clutch. You're going to have a few problems with this one as the flywheel on the 2.8 isnt machinable at all... so.. if the flywheel is rooted.. replacement cost is around the 2000 price tag ish :o :o

Perhaps a call to Direct Clutch in Brisbane ( i know its 1000kms away from you.. but worth calling) as they manufacture clutches from stratch using your own old oe equipment as a base to work with.

Ive been thinking the same but I cant justify spending any more on my patrol as I want to save up for a bigger engine conversion.

Is this flywheel different to the L28 flywheel? Considering Nissan's reuise of dimensions in 4.2 pertol and diesel I assumed it would be the same....

the 2.8 from my knowledge uses a simliar gearbox to a vl commodore (someone correct me if im wrong) and their flywheel is a non machinable type which can make it difficult for clutch swapovers if the flywheel is no good.

Alternatively.. save up and trade in the rig for a 4.2 diesel... something I should have done. And still considering... but ... the 2.8s are bloody economical...

I guess I cant have it both ways...

My clutch is now at 240,000 and still goin strong... I have no idea why Ive been lucky with this car... Ive towed a cruiser 300kms home after it hydralicked... and had my gf fill it up with unleaded and drove it 20 kms home... and she's still going strong......
