Does anyone have any pics of Big Scotty's blue FJ45 (Car # 45) that they would be willing to send me. It was the car's first outing after a major rebuild and I was marshalling all weekend and didn't get to see any of him in action apart from Sunday.
If you do have, can you please PM us and we can work out the details.
Thanks muchly.
Mrs Big Scotty.

The way the guys that were letting people down were talking they made it out to be a hard track saying you need it which is why some people were annoyed when they were told to let there tyres down. the track was very hardpacked and full tyre pressures wouldn't have made a differencegrimbo wrote:Yeah but it still stands to reason the request was there for the good of keeping the owner on sie for future events. it is not an unreasonable request to ensure that no damage is done to his propertymoose wrote:also grimbo , it was a 2wheel drive track , no cross paddock or anything !!
I found the PGS 40# to be pretty funny being the recovery vehicle yet it was stuck there broken down. pretty flash looking truck thou however didn't really belong at a winch challenge
Well this was my first comp i've been to and not knowing what to expect i must say that i and the group i went with had a fantastic day! We managed to get around to all the stages on Saturday and see quite a few teams do each stage. Food and drink as mentioned could have been better, but it didn't take that long to get both whilst talking to other people.
And to all the people who said it was just mud drags, you should have been there on Saturday, we saw heaps of winching done.
I'll definately be back next year.

Four wheels (Driving) good, two wheels bad.

I think they cooked the head on it before the night stages had even started. I was at the bottom of SS1 and heard much cursing and lots and lots of steam.hokey wrote:I found the PGS 40# to be pretty funny being the recovery vehicle yet it was stuck there broken down. pretty flash looking truck thou however didn't really belong at a winch challenge
So PGS didnt have a good weekend as the Zook got broke at some stage on friday also.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....

Mate dont know if you were there on saturday but i know i saw a couple of defenders getting dragged back onto the track so maybe they were ering on the right side of caution (law suits would go down great)

Dont get me wrong another great event but definately lacking on last year and i think the idea of a rough schedule is a great idea as on sat i found myself hiking great distance to find no action (fun with 7 year old son who just wanted action).
The dash for cash was sick the boys realy turned it on there.
more food vans or just a drink stall top idea
Drove the truck there on sat only to find had to park it in the top paddock
so didnt take it sun to find that they were letting them down
Anyway met up with alot of mates and met some new ones mainly of this forum aswell had a blast and i am lookin forward to next year already as a few of the boys are hoping to be able to enter (or atleast finnish) there rigs by then i might even throw on me runnin shoes and go for a swim
BTW web wheeling jocks should keep there opinions to themselves or get muddy.
Oh another thing tools tearing up the carpark and tracks realy guys not the best way to keep something we all enjoy accesible to the public pretty sure no one was impressed by it

G'day guys me again, I'll see if I can cover a couple of points.
The catering can definately be increased to reduce waiting times. Eating and drinking are high on my list of priorities How it is delivered might need some consideration though. The access track was VERY slippery Friday night and Saturday was a little better, Sunday was better again so I'm told. The food van had to be moved down that track to the middle of the property on Saturday mornng, then moved down to Sundays position on Saturday night, believe me that was a winch challenge all of it's own. (Thanks god for big tractors )
Because so many stages started or finished on the main track on Saturday we decided not to allow spectators vehicle access, as a safety precaution.
Because the track had been so slippery over the weekend people were told to let down the tyres. How happy would you have been if you were held up for an hour while we recovered some nuffa who slid of the track.
Maybe not a perfect solution but again safety first.

Well i for one had an awesome weekend!!!!
Massive thanks to the people that put in the huge effort to run the event!
I guess we are now just waiting on results... surely we came 11th as we were not in top 10
Now for my rant!!!! Bloody spectators getting way too close! & not behind bunting!! Whats going on there??? Help the marshalls out & stay where your meant to be!!!
Who was it that Darren green almost ran over as they were on the wrong side of the bunting whilst a speed stage is going on??? Genius
When we did SS9... There were spectators way to close!!! Photo below to show! there are people standing on the track!!!

This guy just happens to be me who at the time was marshalling at the event and was there watching and making sure u were winching correctly and safely.
Have u ever been to any rallys where the crowd is only centimeters from cars doing 150k plus ,the crowd gets the buzz out of it and so do the drivers, learn to deal with the crowd being there ,cause if they werent there neither would any of us be.

Maybe if you actualy looked at the stage before hand you could have raised your concerns with the marshalls who i'm sure would have listened.
Anyway that was probably the most entertaining stage of the day and top show was put on aswell as a couple of realy poor winching choices especialy trying to winch off a cut down branch But i probably couldnt do any better under pressure but we'll see

I hear u brother we were probably overwelmed with the amount of spectators there on ss9 ,but i guess thats what made it all more exciting,i remember this event when spectator werent allowed on the saturday, and all u had were marshals on the stage, and believe me that was as boring as bat shit,so i guess i totally understand what u are saying but i also believe that the crowd is what gets u through some of those stages where otherwise u might have had to winch.
