v6 rocky (up & running)
After my wife blew up the diesel i looked around and it was goin to cost about 2/3 grand to repair. So thought Fark it went to dellow and bought the kit.
Managed to find a vp commodore 130000ks full service history $600 (it was in really good nick ) pulled the engine and all the harnesses i needed & relays/ fuseable links etc.
I made all the engine mounts at work and cut up the commodore exhaust and made my own system on the rocky (sounds tops ).
Had to use a vl fuel pump and made a surge tank with a low pressure pump feeding from the main tank.
All ive got to do is get a power steering made up(tomorrow) and make a spacer/bush for my clutch cable.
So should be burnin around soon
Ive got heaps of pics but dont have an image host yet will get it sorted soon(if your really keen can email them)
Will let yous know how it goes
CHEERS CRAIG

The kit cost $1500 you get
adapter -bolts onto box
bellhousing/clutch fork and bearing
spigot bearing. everything to bolt the motor to the gearbox.
You get engine mounts and a tube bracket setup the weld to the chassis rails. But you cant use the lefthand one if you want to keep the aircond.
I used there mount and made a bracket to bolt to the original daihatsu chassis mount on the right hand side.
And on the left i used the holden mount (which is part of the aircond bracket) and made my own bracket to weld to the chassis.
You also get the clutch plate(10" v8 holden with daihatsu centre)
I had to buy a flywheel $350 and a pressure plate (std v6 commodore) $160.
So if you dont want aircond you can do it with out cutting
And ive got a 80AMP alt

Post up some pics when you get it up and running mate.
You say it was going to be around 2/3 grand to repair... although only the stuff you listed has been over $2500... It will be dearer in the end won't it then, let alone lots of fiddling around by the sounds of it?
i'd be rushing out and buying an IFS rocky
you will have a lot of fun soon,i looked at apower upgrade
for a diesle scat for comp work, either turbo, supercharger or both
but it was far cheaper to v6 convert, i stayed with the commy
auto,& put on a hilux tranny,4.88 diff ratios,37" tyres,
I now get around 115km/ph in low 4x4 & havent opened her up all
the way in 2wd yet, but 187km/ph by the gps felt cool
