4wd systems mandrel exhaust
4wd systems have mandrel bent exhaust systems for $475 .. has anyone on here used/abused them ?
Seems to be pretty cheap compared to what I had been quoted in the past Depending on what motor I end up with it still may be worthwhile
Only saw em there since I was comparing prices on difflocks .

I've had and still have some accessories from 4wd systems and I would say some of their products are very good. I also had the lokka's, but eventually had to remove it from the rear as it broke the diff. Notice they don't sell them for sierra's anymore?
But as to the exhaust, after getting the cruiser turbo'd and getting the exhaust done at the same time, I regret getting the kit/per-built exhaust. I've had to get it repaired/bent/chopped to suit the bends of the car. So after learning this expensive lesson, I would go for an exhaust built to suit the car. Sure it costs a little more, but you get what you pay for.

I've just had a 3in system put on mine, the bloke who made it used an adaptor plate he got from Melbourne (that eliminated the cast dump and freed up the flow heaps) he also used mandrel bends which he ordered in at around $20 a piece.chunderlicious wrote:you go to an exhaust mob and get them to do one from mild and weld in bends and itll be the same maybe even cheaper if you dont get a muffler and have the turbo dump allready on (cast toyota etc.)
It has made a HUUUUuuge difference to my hilux.

How much did that set you back? Whats the shops name & number?
knight, talk to your local shop, they all do that shit, if you get press bends (it aint that bad) itll only cost 200ish bucks from dump back plus muffler and joiners, flex joints etc. 3 inch flanges (that join 2 bits together with bolts)and gasket are $25 for the kit. flex joint will cost either $20 or $120, depending on how good it is.
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

I suggest you loose the cast iron lump that bolts onto the turbo and get whoever you end up using to do the job to get an adapter plate then make the pipe to suit, it really allows for much better flow.
Mandrel bends are $20 each.
