unsure on lift?

Post by paulyp »

hey every body i hav a 96 model v6 4door vit thats has had a suspension lift and 30" mudders installed, i thought this would be enough to get me around but hav problems with the tyres scraping and not much articulation, i figure i need a 2" or 3" body lift, i was wondering wat are the best options and where to get them. somebody mentioned 'just crusin" in brisbane and i also found a couple on ebay.

also if you hav had you mechanic install the kit rather than do it yourself how much did it cost?

cheers for any help

Most mechanics will want to hit you for a full day - it ties up a hoist for a fair while and is easier with two people so bank on $850 or so to pay to have it fitted if you walk in off the street and ask.

Also, bear in mind that there are lots of little things that are time consuming that a mechanic with won't want to tackle or you won't want to pay for the trial and error - shifter hole modifications, inner guard rubbers, bumper brackets etc.

I have done a couple of vitaras at home ( no hoist) and with rear bumper done and shifter, it's about 8- 10hrs work for two people drive in drive out.

An experienced shop that has done them before might be cheaper.

I'm not sure on rear bumper brackets though, these are not supplied in my kit but can someone shed some light on them for me please. A pic would help.
