Well after a lot of talk and not much action I finally got around to getting the Rancho's fitted. Only just got them fitted so yet to have a verdict on how they go offroad but they should make a fair bit of difference as the Toughdogs that I did have were a pretty stiff shock.
Got them fitted by 4WD USA who are the mob who import the Calmini gear. Asked them if they'd had much interest from Isuzu owners and they said not much from Jackaroo owners but plenty from Rodeo owners and they have already sold a few kits.
Will let you know how the Rancho's go. I think the selectability is going to be very handy...

Hows the articulator going?
I need your advice on upgrades, as I am getting $4000 from the car dealer for my truck after it went to Court again, so will be buying tyres to start with, but not sure whether to go for 32's or the new 33x10.5 BFG's which would mean a body lift also (would rather put that money towards a front locker)
Any tips? That SAS looks tempting, but I dont know whether to risk wrecking a good truck.

If you want the incab kit go to K&N FABRICATIONs in Canningvale?
They fitted mine to my Jackaroo and did a great job to (see GLEN)
Cost me $400 for the kit fitted.
If your going for the Ranch 9000 they are a waist of time without the incab kit. You can change the ride at the push of a button and feel it straight away,really cool.I have the rancho's in my TJ WRANGLER too but no incab as yet.Access to the adjusters are easy with a 7" lift.(no crawling around under the car.

Thanks for the advice on the incab kit. I think I will definately do that later. One thing I want to ask you is if there is a risk of damaging the adjustment dial when on the trails. The dial seems to be in a very vulnerable position and I can see them getting damaged fairly easily. Even with the remote system installed I reckon there could be damage. One thing I though of is turning the shocks around the other way but this would make them even harder to access.

Did you compete or just spectate?As for the Rancho's,yes I to thought they would be vulnerable hanging out like that!But havn't knocked them off yet,even on the JEEP(and I have gone EVERYWHERE in that thing )
Duncan was also worried about that and did what you just said,turn them upside down (NB:can only be adjusted with the IN-CAB kit though)Cant see it making too much diference to the actual working function of the shock?? But could be wrong!!
We should catch up some time we go down to Collie and Brunswick quite often four wheel driving in a big group of top blokes. We all just met up through OZJEEP forum (not all of them are JEEPERS)so next time we go out I will let you know.

Yep I was there both days and you might have seen me hanging out with Graeme (SOA Zook with mongrels). Just spectating this time though I sure felt like getting out there in the Jackaroo.

As for the Ranchos I was actually thinking just turning them the other way so the dial faces backward and not turn the whole thing upside down. I think it would be a little better protected that way (at least on the Jack).
Will see how it goes as is though.
I actually did a trip with Duncan and Christian and afew others a while ago down to Brunswick and we also did the Edwards road run.

Yeh, that sounds like what I had in mind but it obviously doesnt prevent the problem from occuring totally. So the adjusters are removable are they?
Sounds like the in cab kit is the only real fix but there is probably always a chance that the lines can get damaged also...
