Ive read that they are chopped for the NZ market. They are bought as a full body and the rear door is grafed into the rear.

Was discussed on a NZ forum

Surely it would be easier to just import the cab back? the tray is just generic.

There was a company doing them over here too. I think in brissy. I know of a few on the roads here. Would cost abit to get one from NZ. You may still need to engineer it too. Remember all of NZ cars are imports and laws will be different.

not all cars in NZ are imports, however they have very little in the way of emission laws.
bringing a car from NZ will need to go through complience ($$$$$$ & $)

it would be cheaper to make your own here and engineer it.

I'd say it has been cut.. in NZ. If you look closely at the under tray pics you can see where they have welded the tailgate in to make the back wall of the cab. complete with spare wheel depression. I reckon that is the easiest way to do a ute. start with a hardtop not a softtop. The tray looks nothing like a factory unit.

Fuel filler is in a crappy spot & you will melt the spare tyre from rear muffler.

And you would fit 3 bales of hay in it - if you were lucky?

Other that it would be cool to be able to get a LWB version here!!
