do the driveshaft and jackshaft need to be lined up

Post by JacZook »

do the driveshaft and jackshaft need to be lined line up in any special way?

I am getting bad vibrations at low speed but smooths out at top end.

unis seem fine not ceased at least. plenty of movement.

I am thinking that the driveshaft and jack shaft need to lined up in sync. even thou I made sure that the driveshaft is in phase but the jackshaft I just put it back in with no special detail.

Am I missing something?

cheers

Given the transfer has neutral where the jack shaft can spin and the tail shaft not, I don't think it matters.

Hookers are like bowling balls, You pick them up, put your fingers in them, then throw them in the gutter and they come back for more.

I hate going to weddings because all the grandma's used to poke me in the ribs saying you're next, you're next. They've stopped doing it since I started doing it to them at funerals.

Unis

Post by vk5hks »

Mine was doing the same last week... Check the Uni's on the jackshaft my front one was cactus. I had massive slop and wobble in it.....

Took at out after some hammering and well one of the uni points had all the bearings grinded down to rust.......

$25 and hey presto she is all good again :)
