look under a rangie, most 3.9 rangies running a Lt230 transfer have the same length rear shaft as a disco. The pinion flanges AFAIK are just a swap too, front and rear are the same.

I changed mine over ages ago - it has never failed now. I currently run a range rover shaft. The 4 bolt flange that is replaced on the front of the diff is not as long as the 3 bolt flange so you will need a spacer (a FAT washer - about 10mm). Most landrover places sell them ($20.00)

Put a new diff pinion seal in while your at it.

I just got a new 4 bolt flange and spacer from my landy man (about $60) then took the shaft to a local driveshaft bloke to cut off the old 3 bolt yoke and weld on a new 4 bolt one. I had a new uni lying around, so the whole thing only cost about $165, and uses your own shaft.
