Fuel Consumption

Post by Havoc »

I've tried searching but not returning the results i'm after, i looking at buying a Disco Series I TDI and i'm trying to decide on an auto or manual, what i want to know is what sort of fuel consumption you get from the 2 different transmissions?
Thanks in advance

Wouldnt think the differance would be that great...
My Defender's fuel consumption never changes a hell of a lot no matter what i'm doing...

If i had a choice i would go the auto, matched with the tdi its a great combo.

Hey Iv'e got a V8 that will return you about 20+ltrs to the 100. I think its about 40 to the 100 when all i do is drive 4kms a day to the boys school. V8's love cold driving. Can't even get up to running temp driving that far.

ive got a p38 range rover 4.0L v8 and it runs at around 14L/100km around town and highway around 9.8/100L per km if any landrover v8 is running over that get your air map sencer checked. or your engines a 3.5L also remember that landrover changed the efi computers after bmw brought out landrover in 97 and then all engines were changed over to bmw motors after 2000

The only BMW engines fitted to LR's are the 4.4 and 3ltr in the L322 and the 2.5 ltr 6 in the p38 ( which we didnt get), the 4.0/4.6/ td5 are all LR motors.

While the TD5 wasn't badged BMW, being developed while they owned and ran the show makes for pretty heavy influence.

All that i have read indicates that the td5 was well and truly designed before the germans took over.

Makes sense.
Otherwise they'd have shoehorned another of their engines in.
