Voltage

Post by gorgie2006 »

Ive got a dvd player in my vitara but am worried to use it much while the car is off at the risk of not being able to start again.
Am looking at getting a voltmeter for the car. Are the ones that plug into the cig lighter a good indication and also wat is the lowest voltage at which i can start the engine?

thanks for your help

plug nto the cigg lighter? i havnt heard of any of those before..
me personally i wouldnt let the battery get below 11v before i turn the key and charge it back up again..
for a simple dvd player you shouldnt have to worry for a few hours at least...
is it a manual or automatic?

Auto, they got them on ebay and stuff but u can hard wire them in as well but im not all that confident in tryin to do that yet. plus i got a mate who hardwired his in the normal gauge type and it showed perfect voltage all the time kind of stupid that he did it that way but hopefully the one i get works well.

Not sure of the room under a vit bonnet but why not dual batteries?
Theres only so many times you can get out of the back and push start your rig after...
