Sorry, another question.
I have a transfer case without the handbrake drum, as my handbrake is on the back wheels.
Can i drop in a replacement transfer case that does have the drum on it, and just not hook up the handbrake on the new transfer? Does it matter? Will anything get in the road?

i think u can but u can also take the drum off the other one and replace with a flange taken off your other case.
you will also probaly have to swap the flanges around anyway to suit the WT pattern of whatu have already.

Yep, the drum acts as the flange on these sierras so you'll have to take it off only because your bolt pattern on the driveshaft will be different being a WT. Also if you left it on, your driveshaft may not fit...Depends how much slip you've got. In terms of mechanically, yes you could run it and not connect it up although the drum does hang a touch low and you might give it a flogging like I did to mine before I fitted a guard.

Well, after much effort, some big crowbars and a cutting torch, i got the drum and flanges off the transfer that i picked up from Gumtree yesterday, swapped the WT ones over from the old leaky one, and put it back together.
MY SQUEALING NOISE IS GONE!!!
I am stoked. I can hear myself think in there now. All i can hear is the note from the extractors. (Now i can buy a CD player that works, as i know i will be able to hear it!)
Got the ute home, and the outside of the transfer is dry as an old chip. No leaks. You beauty. One drama fixed. Now onto the next problem.....
