Zero cars pre-run the stage as a demo/final check of the course and sometimes to set benchmark times. They are competitive cars but not part of the competition.

Will the weekend worriers get a refund if not up to spec or can they check before hand?

Also if this is a CCDA event, is this a new CCDA class?

Don't get me wrong here but safety first.

Yeh I can't log in there due to cookies and my new MAC

All seems a little vague weekend worrier class, if they are up to pass scruteneering then they are all Trophy Class, I agree some weekend worrier's are up to this standard and it would be good to see new faces competing.

The old system of minimum of Trophy Class and least experienced first in seemed to work fine.

My understanding is thet you can get scruteneered before the event (before registering) to see if your car is up to spec. Personally though the event has got me seriously thinking about entering. Need to do a bit of work to the TJ to get it up to spec and hopefully I can get out there for some fun. :) And trophy class seems to keep all cars on a reasonably level playing ground.
Zero cars :D what a great idea. Hope the TJ cancut the mustard :?

I have competed the last 3 years with a 40 and it's original engine, it's about having fun, even though I have a Challenge Class log book. I would not say I had a Challenge Class truck (power wise). For me It's all about the fun of competing, even with the old 2F I still have 2x2nd stage places and a 3rd place stage at Vic Winch, 9th overall and Best Carbi truck in 2005.

It's a ball to do and all who can should.

Still stand by this

PS bring on 2008 and the new 2F-ETI :D

Matt Fenner at ARB Dandy can run you through it. I think Sandy might also be another one.

Pretty sure ONTRACK are doing checks or could atleast run you thru it.
They did scrutineering for the ATECO.

Vic winch

Post by RaceGQ »

An important point needs to be considered in this debate.

If the purpose of Vic Winch (Winch comp) is to attract and keep people in the sport to enter and successfully compete in the main comps, it needs to cater for first timers and 2nd, 3rd and 4th timers building up their trucks to be competitive.

It is too big a jump to go from trophy class in an event run once a year to competing in full on comps.

We need two classes and ideally an event run more than once a year.

Why not run the vic winch pre or post main comps, on the tracks (or parts of them) already set up, it would save work and give the up "newbees" and "up & coming" competitors a chance to build up skills 2 or 3 times a year.

Restricting mods within challenge class trucks is not the answer , these guys need supporting as well as the newbees.
