Thanks

You should be able to get aftermarket shoes , if not take them to a brake shop and get your one's religned , that's all they do when you buy a set , you give them your old one's and they relign them , keeps the cost down , Cheers Paul.
BLOWNZUK 1.3 efi,sc14 supercharger,hilux diffs,detroit lockers,stage 4 rockhopper,6 point cage,35 muddies.

relined shoes will be fine, Just keep the mud out of them. I've had this prob with my 01 jimny too I just avoid mud now, I bought one set of genuine shoes so I always had a spare set and just got them relined so I always had a spare set on hand, if your in the bush and you hear grinding in the back brakes stop at the next creek or puddle rip the drums off and clean out the drums otherwise you will be replacing them again. or stay out of the mud! Its a jimny thing, also with the factory alloys fitted they seem to fill up with grit faster too... Its a jimny thing.

B) He's in Victoria - you can't avoid mud if you drive for 9 months of the year.
Relined shoes are crap and last one trip.

. It pretty hard to avoid mud plus the fella loves the stuff. You tube 'gembrook nite 4x4 may 2007' and you see some clip of him filling up his rear drums good and proper. Get the shoes before friday mate and we'll slip the babies on and bleed them on sat. Byo brake fluid. Plus bring some hose and hose clamps and we'll do the breathers just try an auto shop too. I'm getting some through local repco for my sierra

Avoid mud!!!!! Unlikely
Steve and Dan are spot on!!!
I try to avoid it but some power all ways draws me in. Went out to the farm (overflowing tanks) and washed 3 tonne of mud off my jim, and that was after visiting a car wash place. Managed to track down oem shoes for $122, just have to bight the bullet me thinks.

no worries guys, just keep driving through the mud than! your rear drum brakes will always wear out quickly with mud or sand in them I don't care who has made the shoes! I can't remember how many times I changed my brake shoes (a lot) becuase of them being full of mud sure its fun but hey only if you like to replace the rae akes once a month! I think a rear disc conversion is well needed for the jimny. oh yeah if you don't believe me, ill tell you whats gonna wear out next on you mud logged jimnys firstly your gonna do a set of rear wheel bearings at least every 6 months so you better scrub up your skills to do them at home or its gonna cost ya and cause I'm a nice guy ill let you in on a jimny/coily secret, normal bearing kit for jimny- $120plus if you go to suzuki buy a spacer collar from a early widebody sierra than you can use the old sierra bearing kits which are about 40- 50 bucks also you gear stick is gonna get flogged!!! the selector box under the gearshifter will fill up with mud and grind the s%^T out odf it giving you about 5cm of play between gear changes, still wanna drive in the mud? mud is evil ! you should take you jimny for a surf to wash it all off its not gonna do that much more damage.
