60 & 80 front diff width

Hi all just wanted to know if the 60 front diff is the same width as a 80 front diff

If I remember well ..

60 series front diff it's 58" and the 80 series it's 62"

which one do you have thw 60 or 80? measure if from the weld before the knuckle

60 series front diff from weld to weld is 42" give or take

Thanks Andrew I'm going to start building up a comp rig (a zook) and want to run the 80 diff in the rear and the 60 diff up front as I have a pro locker for the front and a lock right for the back there both rear lockers out of a 80 thats why I want to run a 60 front diff, (the rear locker wont fit in the front of a 80 diff ). so I will have to transfer all the spring hat over to the 60 diff as the zook will be running 80 series suspension.

100 series are not IFS ?

100 series have come in solid axle as well as IFS.

Jimbo...sounds like a real strong setup. To get the rear track close to thesame, 75 rear hubs and brakes bolt on the 80 rear and are an inch further in either side...you need the whole handbrake setup forward to do this...

That would be the one, I keep forgeting it is a 105. Not really into the late model Cruisers. My bad

Use a 60 series rear housing, cut the axle tubes and weld on 80 series swivels.

Fit the 80s hubs, brakes, axles and cv's.

Edit: Sorry, my bad, 80s tie rod will foul the 60 s pinion housing.

Not if you run a high steer set up, But will the 80 axle fit in a 60 center? iIf so I might try it.
