Leaking transfer case easy fix?

Post by hulsty »

Noticed my undercarriage was covered in oil after filling my transfer case, it looks like it is leaking from the output shaft that deliverers power to the tailshaft. Is it a easy enough fix? just some kind of seal in there I assume, whats involed in fixing it? my manual is very clear

cheers

excellent! thats what I like to hear. Oil level is up the creek, seal between transfer and gb is gone and transfer was very low, probs below the seal. I fitted a bypass hose drained and refilled now leaking nice new fluid and rust proofing my undercarrige! grr

i had mine leaking also, i removed the flange and replaced the oil seal without damaging it, but it is still leaking, is there any other place the oil can get through?

Depending on where it's leaking from.. - I had mine seeming to be leaking out the first uni joint.. Undid the four bolts holding the tailshaft on, and tightened up the nut holding the yoke onto the output shaft of the transfer case, then bolted it all back up again, and it hasn't leaked since :)

Cheers,
