Drowned TD42

Post by pornmo »

I recently took my ute for a swim and now cant get motor to turn. Have removed glow plugs and injectors and blown water out of cylinders but still will not turn over with the starter or by towing. Water was only found in cylinders 2 & 4. Any ideas on what to do next?

I think it clearly states that the motor WILL not turn over either by starting or towing so my guess is that you have bent a few conrods and they are resting on the side of the bore down the bottom stopping it from turning, having said that they will normally turn a bit backwards then lock up again when you turn it the normal way.

Yeah that sounds like whats happening, was hoping for a happy ending but doesn't look like it. No movement at all backwards, is it possible that valves could be bent etc. or are conrods the only possibility.
