Winch bolt patterns

Im in the process of making a new front bar for my GQ. it will be designed so i can bolt in either a low or hi mount winch. i will probobally go for a warn hi mount when i can afford it. but in the mean time it will be what ever i can get for a good price.
My question is, do all brands of winches share the same bolt pattern, do the hi mounts bolt pattern differ from the low mounts? same question too for the slot that the cable goes through (fairlead)
Can anyone post a template or measurements of where to drill and cut for various winches.
I dont want to drill the new bar if they arent all universal, if they are it would easier to drill and cut the slot while making the bar.
I would also welcome peoples opinions on various winches available. the vehicle is going to be used for hardcore weekends away, and comps like woodpecker, and maybe in the near future cliffhanger or the extreme winch challenge series.

Low mount - 10.0" x 4.5" (254mm x 114.3mm)

8274-50 high mount - 10.0" x 4.5" (254mm x 114.3mm)

if your making it fit a bar that has a plat or pipe across the bottum, the hi-mount reqires mor clearence for the gearbox then the lowmount

Window aperture and roller position must be such that cable cannot rub on opening.
