Having just upgraded my camper trailer to an 'Adventure Camper' model and with a trip to the Vic high country coming up at xmas, im looking at giving the NL 2.8td a bit more go and traction.
The plan is to fit a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust, tweek the boost up to 14 psi (currently only making 9 max) and get it dyno'd.
On the traction front I have just put some Micky Thompson FC2 (265/75/16) tyres on and am hoping to get front ARB locker. I will also be manufacturing a front swaybar disconnect (articulator copy), to go with my rear disconnects.
One thought on my mind is wether to go front diff lock or new steel bar and winch? I think the locker will get the nod though, on the basis that it will help me not to get stuck, rather than helping me get unstuck!
Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.

Hey cookie,
I'm getting an 2.5" straight thru system with a stainless steel cat fitted on the 29th of August.
Shortly after that I'm having the fuel pump overhauled and put on the dyno for a tune-up.
I'm hoping to get some good power/torque increase from it.
Will let you know how it goes

Another vote for the front locker. I have a detroit in the front of mine and it has made a hugh difference, I can drive up harder tracks with ease (less right foot) which would be even better for off road towing. Recently on a club trip day one on a three day dirt track trip, I broke a front cv (NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER use after market cv's) just removed the shaft from the broken cv and was able to continue on the trip another 400klms with 3 wheel drive. http://www.mitsu4wdclubqld.org/trips/b_ ... 05_NSW.htm

Pajero GLX 2.8td 255/85/16 BFG muds 265/75/16 BFG AT's, articulator, 2.5inch lift, ball joint flip, rear sway bar disconnect and lots of mods.
It depends what sort of driving it'll be. Trails and (guessing here) uneven stuff which I see in alot of oz photos then the front diff lock will help enormously.
However in muddy situations from my experience when you are moving your drive often goes to both front wheels anyway and if you are going to get stuck you'll get stuck regardless
So my thoughts are
Muddy/boggy situations - winch

very reasonable thinkingyep - go the front locker..............it will get you to more situations where you will need the bar and winch ..........and then you can justify the $$$
