vibration from transfer case shifter

Post by beaver700 »

I own a suzuki sierra jx. I am not sure what the problem is, but when I drive at high revs (2500 and over) the transfer case level in the cab rattles increasingly until you put your foot on the clutch, whence it stops immediately. The car cannot go faster than 50k's an hour without sever vibration. I have replaced all 6 universals six months ago, and had the two larger driveshafts balanced. All except for the smallest one. Problem did not occur until recently. I noticed the small collar (slips into the output shaft in the front gearbox) which is on the smallest driveshaft has become loose, so I deformed the collar and pressed it back on the shaft with a hydralic press. Problem was not solved. Any help greatly appreciated,

Martin
