Sick of bending front diffs.
Hilux is getting 80 series diffs next year.
For now I have to put another hilux one in and don't want this one to bend.
Whats the best way to brace it?
Have what I am thinking of in red. Blank pic for other ideas.
Mine are braced similar to the way you have in your photo except with the main bracing on the bottom of the housing not the top. Mine also have some bracing off the short side of the pumpkin as well.
I would do a photo edit but i don't have Photoshop on this computer. Sorry.

Your pic looks like the go I reckon Guts.
That is what I have done to my front diff.
Also a good time to give it a shave and weld up the steering stops solid.
thats what i did to my GQ diff, except for my lux one, ill be doing a brace like siclux (who owns the tough tracks lux) did to his rear diff. goes on the front of the diff like a diff gaurd aswell, stop bending anyway that it wants too.
Saw that superior engineering in brisbane are doing/selling strengthing kits for various diffs now. Ad was in Aus 4x4 monthly.
Emailed bloke for a GU diff, and replied $80.00 for one diff for bits to send and weld on. In my opinion that be cheaper than buggerising around finding decent scrap to cut and grind away making up bracketry. Although saying that, is gonna depend on if it is 1mm plate or something half decent like 4 or 5mm plate isn't it....
