dont no wether u were driving or not but at the 2005 melbourne 4x4 show u were there and one of ure buggies rolled onto its roof and bang straight on the lights not a bit wrong with them infact u were ontop of the lights with your buggy!

Someone smack me over the head, and then smack LightForce over the head as well.
I was out 4wding with a mate and a mate of his on the weekend, and noticed my mate's mate's 240 Blitz lights, and when I told him about the damage to mine, he said the whole assembly unscrews and can be replaced quite cheaply, as LF sell the whole reflector and casing as a seperate item, and showed me the way they unscrew.
See if I hadn't bought second-hand, that info probably comes with the lights, but when you buy second hand you never find this info out.
But why the hell didn't the customer service manager at LF tell me this when I emailed them the photos of the damage and spoke to him on the phone?
I've been putting up without them for weeks now, when it's apparently a simple matter of ordering a replacement reflector.
Pissed at myself for not knowing this, pissed at LF for not telling me this.
Now, anyone know where to order the new casings from?

Mine lost there shine and they replaced them as a whole also. It was only the reflecter at fault.
But there still nice and shiny.
But I do have some early type LF240's that I brought off of ebay in good condition the seller said. Well his opinion of good condition and mine are very different.

I did not want to try and claim warranty. When or if I contact LF it will be because I feel that they might be interested, especially as they design their lights for Australian Conditions, and that includes COLD as well as the traditionally perceived HOT. I would not ask for, or expect, warranty on them, but I know they appreciate feedback on their product to aid them in designing better and better products. Personally I love their products. There handheld spotlights for shooting, are untouchable, compared to any copy cat light out there. I've taken a fox at over 200 metres using their handheld spotlights, which is pretty hard to do with the property owners own handheld spotlight, that next to a LF looks like a candle.[/quote]

One thing the manufacturer has been working on is a small problem in the housing, at the back where it threads on to the legs over the bulb. On some older lights the plastic has developed tiny cracks, almost like stress fractures in this area. The cold weather as well as nudging the wall may have just been enough to cause the housing to compress and actually split from the back towards the front. Worth checking because the couple (and I stress only a couple) of these that I have seen like this, Lightforce has replaced.

The 240 XGT was designed as the premium light to run the HID setup in, but as far as the two go when setup with the 100w Xenophot bulb the Blitz actually projects a better light as it is a true parabolic reflector whereas the XGT is a slightly different shape. I supplied those details yesterday, unfortunately after business hours, and today they told me the guy who asked for the details is off sick today, but that he'll ring me either tomorrow or as soon as he gets back to work. Sure can't fault them on communication with clients.
I looked up their XGT lights today, and I found I was wrong, they are not metal bodied. But will probably still be my next step in lighting if I have to replace the 240 blitz's
