hilux 2.8 turbo trouble

just fitted ct20 turbo to my 2.8 hilux took for drive running 8 pound boost but dosnt seem to make any differance ,exhaust isnt fitted should it make a differance? any help would be gratefull.

how'd you know it was 8 psi? did you have a guage fitted with it? Make sure you wind your fuel up? Shouldn't affect it too much with the exhaust on afterwards.

they usually get a bit more performance without adding any more fuel.
however don't expect it to get large amounts of power without adding fuel.

check your hoses, make sure they is no leaks.

where abouts are you measuring the boost?

gday havent played with the fuel yet ,and im running a boost gauge out of the waste gate line.

tap it into the inlet manifold and see what you get there.

You need to add fuel, at LEAST 1 full turn

with this is there much difference in fuel consumption after a couple months of having a turbo fitted? first long trip i got 400km to a 3/4 of a tank then next trip smae distance and road i used a full tank sitting roughly on same speed with same fuel.

Not 3L specific .. but at least I need to add 2 1/2 complete turns at my IP to feel the diference ..

Actually I thought I can add 3 more turn if I want reach more fuel ..

how's about using a pryo or one of those laser thermos to measure your egt's. If it's not getting hot enough you're not getting enough fuel if you're getting too hot wind it back. Drive it up a long steep hill and quickly measure it once you hit the top. Let it all wind down coming down the hill and repeat till you get the right egt's. Or you could do something similar at night with some car headlights behind you wind it up till you see the heat coming off your mirror and then back it off so it just starts to disappear when you load her up and give it some.

A hilux with a CT20 should sit between 380-440 degrees ...I think

But some guru here will confirm that for sure.
