Thinking about a few aesthetic mods for the 86 4runner I'm currently 'running' around in.
One of the things that annoys me the most at the moment is the amount of time required to fit/remove the hard top... So I'm pondering a few ideas.
Firstly, to remove back row of seats and cover the entire 'tray' with checker plate. Then get a custom soft 'wall' built behind the front row of seats (similar material to a soft top)
The other thing I've seen (but not been able to locate) is a full softtop for the 4runner.
The last option I'm considering is welding a full time wall behind the drivers and passangers seats (with window, ofcourse)
Does anyone know of anyone that does custom soft tops/similar in the sydney area?
Cheers

i wouldnt be removing the canopy too often.
ive heard about them being brittle after 20 years of being in the sun, and if you do it to often they can break.
best to just leave it on or replace it with a soft top.

The ones you see on pirate are mostly made by a company called Can-Back.
You could try Jim Allen sliding canopies - I always thought there were pretty cool (they're in Melbourne) or a boat canopy maker.
Steve.

hi mate, ive removed my rear seats and welded a back wall into my runner. got the back window section of cab out of a wreck. bit of work but looks cool imo. also made the wall below the window go back to give me more room behind the seats.i posted a pic on here ages ago i think. but yeah can-bak makes the soft tops.check pirate.
