*************Tech section - Please read****************

Post by sierrajim »

Dear All,

***Disclaimer***--This is not directed at any particular member/members of this forum----

As you're no doubt aware there have been a number of threads that have been deleted or moderated lately due to their lack of tech content or personal arguments that develop throughout the thread.

I have a job, i have a life outside outers, heck, I even go 4WDing. To cut a long story short, i have better things to do as opposed to moderating threads that have turned to crap because people are taking things the wrong way.

Everyone has an opinion, everyone is entitled to one. If someone’s opinion differs to yours DO NOT take it as a personal attack upon yourself.

Tech sections are for TECH ONLY. Trips go into trips sections, Classifieds into classifieds etc etc.

It sounds harsh, but if you don't like it please let me know and i'll have your account deleted from the system. This REALLY pisses me off. There is so much to be learnt from members of this forum. It is not a school yard.

If you're pissed off after reading a post by another member, go make yourself a cup of Chi Tea, calm down and think before you post.

Sorry Mugginsmoo, Popcorn will no longer be served in the Zook section.

Regards

James

BTT

Please all read this post.

I've just wasted the last 30 minutes of my life deleting posts.

This is a tech forum. NOT A PISSING CONTEST. Either build a bridge and get over it or take your ego's elsewhere.

OK the next person to talk any crap in this section will be banned no questions asked or aswered! If we feel your post deserves to be deleted you will also be deleted with it. Its that simple. Either go by these rules or go else where.

Ive been a member for awhile and seen alot of people come and go and the furom change direction too.
Just a suggestion not sure if its viable but..
I know we have various sections on this board and the suzuki section is for tech only but what about 1 (ONE) sticky chit chat thread in the suzuki section?
Ive noticed sometimes there is alot of chit chat in tech threads that adds to the bulk and makes searching a bit harder and longer.
So what about a section we can talk to other zookers without other groups jumping in?
I never use chit chat anyway but would be nice to have the option while still in the zook section.
Hope that makes some kind of sense and maybe it MIGHT stop some bickering??
Just a thought!

NIK. I like it. I have been thinking that ever since I joined Outers. A GENERAL SUZUKI sticky would be great. I would like to see a SUZUKI CLASSIFIEDS too... Call me lazy, but I think it would be nice if Outers went that direction.

With SO MUCH info in one forum that covers SO MANY makes of car - why not group the sections by car make?

Just my 2c.

Cheers,

Pez

OK, cheers guys, some great ideas.

Firstly, some of you may have noticed over time that when a noob asks an old question quite often a new answer is given. Yes, it is easier if they do a search and post in an old thread, however not everyone is quite so savvy with the search functions on these forums.

Bear in mind that almost everything technically related could be crammed into less than 50 threads. Would make a pretty boring forum wouldn't it?

Different threads on different days head in different directions, often encouraging people to think of new ideas that may have otherwise not been thought of. This is a discussion forum, whilst a reduction in the BS threads might help things, the education of those members who don't know how to properley use the search function will make a difference.

If you feel the need to post the term "Search" or "Tonka" you will now be required to do the following:
-post atleast two links to relevant threads on this forum
-post up instructions on how that particular member can use the search function for their future reference.

Feel free to compile a list of ABSOLUTELY useless threads with 0-3 replies with no tech content. The bible threads should cover most things anyway.
Foolinjected and Grabit1, you have your mission.

Chit Chat in the tech section, no. Chit Chat stays in the Chit Chat section.

Stop the bickering in the Zook section, two words "Toot" and "Toot"
