I havent really set my laptop up to work in the car. But I do have Oziexploerer on it and a Bluethooth GPS. I did drive to work with it on the passenger seat and the GPS in the glovebox. And had good reception all the way to work.
I just brought the GPS thingy off of Ebay. Think it was around $80 delivered.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....

1. Power. Either a cigarette lighter plug or inverter.

2. GPS Receiver. If your laptop has bluetooth then I'd look at a bluetooth GPS receiver. If not, one of the USB mouse ones will do the job.

3. Software. Oziexplorer and maps. If you look around the internet there's a good set of both Vic and NSW maps to be had. If you want point to point road navigation, the only software package I've seen working on a laptop (I run it on mine) is freedrive. It's free to download from a UK internet site.

4. Mounting. If you can afford on, a RAM mount is great. I've seen a number of homemade mounting systems that have worked very well.

Hookers are like bowling balls, You pick them up, put your fingers in them, then throw them in the gutter and they come back for more.
