SRS are passenger side air bags? or are they side ones? I can't remember.

I have a 97 HDJ80 and it has driver and passenger front air bags, but no side ones.

I thought all 40th anniv. ones had them? mine isn't a 40th anniv. one though.

I believe in the 80 series it was an optional package of airbags and anti-lock brakes. Don't think anything earlier than 96 would have had the option.

I prefer not having them as it allows more choice of bullbars.

SRS = Secondary Restraint System
PRS = Primary Restraint System

PRS = Seatbelts
SRS = Airbags

Yeah mine has driver and passenger, thought it was weeird, never seen it before. Got no handle on passenger side though :(

Oh yeah and no bullbar... :oops:

Plus they have a 10 year service interval :? Which should be due any day

Thats right, no handle coz thats where the airbag comes out from, you'll have the handle on the pillar like the drivers side. service? does the warning light stay on after your engine starts running? Without airbags there is heaps of room up in that cavity above the glovebox.

I doubt a light comes on, I just think you need to get them serviced :cool:

Anyways, mine does not even have a tow package.

And I cannot get the windscreen wipers to work.

The 1995 sahara was the first drivers air bag, the 40th annaversary was the first optional passenger airbag 80, i have seen governmanr rv cruisers with both, so they were optional across the range
Ive heard that every 10 years, they need replacing, just to be sure the gas is still all there....but sofar in NSW, there has been no follow up by rta.

Nope. My 40th Anniversary has no airbags - just ABS.

Don't need to go out and try it! Just turn your ignition to ON and look for the ABS light in the dashboard. If you have a centre difflock button, press it and it will disable ABS (don't do this while driving on the road!). And finally, if you don't have the centre difflock button, you have a transfer case with a Viscous coupling.
