Without knowing anything about the terrian tamer winches. If its rated at 9500lb then it will be ample for a Jeep. The 8274 mentioned is a Warn Hi-mount that is only rated at 8000lb.
So if you already have it and dont use or have a need for winch very often. I would wack it on.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
I'm with Wooders if your entering comps the 8274 is the go .I have a chinese 10ooolb job it works OK but is V E R Y slow compared to a high mount definately not what you'd want in comps .Wooders wrote:Personally I;d hock it for as much as possible and put the $$ towards an 8274.
And yes the 8274 is on my must get list
97 TJ Wrangler OME lift 33"JT's
66 mustang
04 SS 5.7 (wifes)

For most people it would probably be fine.JEEP1 wrote:but this winch will it do the jobs im after and hold up ok??
But if you want anthing near competition level then you DO want an 8274.
I had a 20 year old 8274 and sold it for an XP9.5 - which is IMHO one of the best low mount winches available.....And I have regretted it since.....
