injector pump timing mark td42 ?

Post by eighty8 »

Will be removing the injector pump on monday, I know that there are two dots etc on the idler gear and pump gear to line up on TDC, but I am looking for the position of the scribe line that is apparantly located on the pump and timing cover.
Cant seem to find it.
Can anyone help?

alex.

td42 pump timing ?

Post by eighty8 »

Well i got my injector pump overhauled today. I ended up playing on the safe side and dropping the truck off and having the pump shop remove and refit the pump and set the timing correctly. Very noticable difference even on an old bus with 430k. Glad i payed the extra $$ to have it set up properly. I do pretty much everything myself but i think fine tuning of the pump is best left to the experts with the right tools. Didn't do the injectors this time round but should have them done by xmas, so that should improve it even more.
Thanks for the feed back. alex.
