Supra motor on Hilux 4 speed

Post by Pesky Pete »

I know that this topic has been done to death but I could not find anything on the topic when i SEARCHED the archives. Has anyone put a 5M or 7M supra motor in front of a 4 speed hilux box, or do you need a 5 speed to bolt straight up to the 5M or 7M

Cheers

7M-GTE cheep, you would wanna hope its good if it was still available, 7Ms had a head gasket problem which is fixed by increasing the torque on the bolts a bit

but the word on the toyota supra type sites, if you get a bad 7M, it will always be a bad 7M

Bubs
The motor was $400 with a blown head gasket!!!

Anyway, I had planned on doing the commodore and auto swap but when I saw the price of this 7M I couldnt resist the thought of all those ponies. Anyway, back to the commodore plans. Hope to have the motor and box here in the next few weeks so I can get started on it.

Cheers
