LWB, SSWB GQ Seats
LWB, SSWB GQ Seats
Just a quick questions about the front seats between a SWB and a LWB.
I own a 88 SWB and i test drove a 96 LWB today for my brother and it seamed that the drivers and passengers seem to have more leg room in the LWB compared to the SWB. Is this correct or was i imagining things?
If it is true i will be interested in putting LWB seats and rails into my shorty for more leg room.

Its not cool, unless it's got boost :)
Re: LWB, SSWB GQ Seats
you maybe right... but the shorty seats have to tilt forward thats why you may have less leg room..
Yer pain in the arse on long trips. When ya try and get comfy and spent most of the time smashing knees on the glovebox.
From my shorty I am sure the Drivers seat is the same between LWB and SWB.
Where as the passenger seat on a SWB does not go back as far. Easy fix, piss off both seats and get comfy after market ones.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
I hate the air seats or sprung seats out of trucks. I have hit some big holes in trucks and at speed. Had feet come of pedals, arse off seat. I think there shit.pongo wrote:Jag seats are an almost bolt up on a mkturps wrote:. Easy fix, piss off both seats and get comfy after market ones.
might get into it today, if that dont work, im gunna buy a air seat out of a truck
So I am going to save lots of money and buy something from http://www.idealseat.com.au/

Drove the old patrol up the hume from wagga towing a trailer. took 5.5 hours, pulled up at work, ran across the carpark and jumped in the work truck and worked another 8turps wrote:I hate the air seats or sprung seats out of trucks. by the time i got to the yard to start work, my back was farked from the great ride of leaves and the joy of a trailer pushing and pulling. The moment i sat in the office chair my back felt good again. Ive driven our pajero and our old 4runner and had to wear a back brace to make the trip down sth
Might not be the best seats in the world, but if dialed in to suit, there brilliant on rough roads and trucks once ya get used to them.
Thanks guys. Im am tossing up what to do with seats... I need about a extra inch on the drivers side for me and would like to make the passenger side the same as the drivers for the wife. It doesnt worry me about the back seat as it will be removed for a set of storage drawers.
I would like after market seats would be great, but in my old MK i had a paratis(spelling) seat, the seat was great but it seamed to sit me up higher and i would bump my head on the roof
. That is the problem with being 6'6" tall and not a small boy
.
Any susgestioms would be great, cause at the moment im thinking of getting the seats re padded and trimed.
