the last couple of days there have been times that ive put the handbrake on and nothing would happen, it would just feel like pulling it on but the cable is freepulling, then other times it would come on nice and stiff with no probs at all.... any ideas on what the prob could be?

If you get under there is a hole in the drum and you need to line it up with the ratchet system (usually on the left) then tighten the hand brake pads up maybe a pad is loose or very low. Should only need 4 clicks to stop it rolling. Otherwise take tailshaft off and clean the drum assembly out as it can get full of mud and crap and the cable may have kinked and only works when its shaken into particular spot. hope this helps. just a few ideas

last time mine did that on mine, the end of the cable was torn off in side the drum. oh and you can use the short wheel base cable as well, if you cant find a lwb one, its a bit longer but does the same job
