very similar, get much better out of a tuned 1HDFT
2) Power??? do they have some get up and go or are they a slug???
bucket loads of low down torque, KW not much different
3) do they have over heating issues when put in a Cruiser or Patrol?
yes and no, depends on the radiator and condition of cooling system
4) Reliability???
early 6.2s had head cracking problems, i think this was fixed in the 6.5s, the later model the better however
5) Spare Parts and where from???
not overly common, youd be hard up to get spare in the middle of the simpson, but in town no troubles
6) If I was to turbo it where abouts could i source a kit from???
use factory bits, often use a centred rear mount turbo however a custom twin turbo would be the shi7

i spose it comes down to preference, if the car has it installed already, and is a good price, get a few basic checks done like compression test, have a good look at the oil, quiz the owner about serviciing. They are a good motor, sound good but you can make more power more reliably from a toyota motor. They dont handle big boost (in-direct injection) can be costly to repair, bit pull like a train!
Thanx in advance guys

It was covered extensively in the last 12 months when bogged was looking at conversions. Tiny has a 6.2 in his 73 MWB, and i think brighty has one in a 60 series tray back.
Cheers,

Id be more worried about the actual conversion.
Does the motor look like it belongs in the engine bay, or is it a botched up effort that looks to have had patch up after patch up.
That to me would mean more than wether its a great motor or not.
A great motor in a great car with a botched up conversion can mean more probs than imaginable.
Been there defiantly learned that
